the Pharaoh of Moses, one of their greatest kings. In recounting his story in the Quran, Allah Most High has related much that offers lessons.

Likewise, the polytheists of Quraysh who initially disbelieved in the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, resembled these people in being leaders of those who disbelieved after them. As the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said in an authentic hadith:

“People follow Quraysh in this matter: their believers follow its believers, and their disbelievers follow its disbelievers.”
