The Report of Men Among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

20285 – Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to us. He said: I heard Qatādah relate from ʿAlqamah ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Muzanī, from several men among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him be mindful of Allah and honour his neighbour. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him be mindful of Allah and honour his guest. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him be mindful of Allah and either speak the truth or remain silent.” (1)

20286 – Ḥajjāj narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to me. He said: I heard Qatādah relate from ʿAlqamah ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Muzanī, from several men among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he reported the same wording. 20287 – Muhammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Qatādah, from Naṣr ibn ʿĀṣim, from one of those men: that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and embraced Islam on the condition that he would perform only two prayers, and the Prophet accepted that from him.
