One of them was asked, “How can you complain to Him of what is not hidden from Him?” He replied, “My Lord is pleased when His servant humbles himself before Him.”

The point is that He, Glorified be He, commanded His Messenger to be patient like the messengers of firm resolve, who willingly bore His decree with patience. This is the most perfect patience. For this reason, the account of intercession on the Day of Resurrection centers on them, until they refer it to the best and most excellent among them, and the most patient with Allah’s decree.
