“This is what We recite to you of the signs and the wise Reminder.”
And He, Most High, says:
68:52 “It is nothing but a reminder to all the worlds.”
And He, Most High, says:
41:41 “Indeed, those who disbelieve in the Reminder when it comes to them—and it is indeed a mighty Book.”
And He, Most High, says:
36:11 “You can only warn those who follow the Reminder and fear the Most Merciful without seeing Him.”

Its annexation thus resembles that of non-derived nouns in which a governing word is annexed to the word it governs. A parallel involving the annexation of an active participle occurs in His words:
40:3 “Forgiver of sin, Accepter of repentance, Severe in punishment.”
These constructions are not intended to convey an action occurring anew, but rather a fixed, enduring attribute. Hence they serve as attributes of the most definite of all definite nouns—the name of Allah, Most High—in His words:
145:2–3 “The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, Forgiver of sin, Accepter of repentance, Severe in punishment, Possessor of bounty. There is no god but Him; to Him is the ultimate return.”

His words, Most High:
20:124 “He will have a life of hardship.”
More than one of the early generations interpreted this as the punishment of the grave and regarded this verse as one of the proofs establishing that punishment. Hence He says:
“We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say, ‘My Lord, why have You raised me blind when I used to see?’ He will say, ‘Thus Our signs came to you, but you neglected them; and so today you will be neglected.’”
That is, you will be left in punishment, just as you neglected to act upon Our signs. Thus He mentions both the punishment of the intermediate realm and the punishment of the abode of ruin.
A parallel occurs in His words, Most High, concerning Pharaoh’s people:
40:46 “The Fire, to which they are exposed morning and evening.”
This takes place in the intermediate realm.
40:46 “And on the Day the Hour is established: ‘Admit Pharaoh’s people to the severest punishment.’”
This takes place at the great Resurrection.
Another parallel is His saying, Most High:
6:93 “If only you could see the wrongdoers in the throes of death
