Surah al-Isrā’
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
[Surah al-Isrā’ (17): verses 80 to 82]
“Say, ‘My Lord, grant me a sound entrance and a sound departure, and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.’ (80) And say, ‘Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.’ (81) And We send down from the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss. (82)”
Allah also related that His close friend Abraham, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked Him to grant him honorable mention among people. He said (26:84): “And grant me honorable mention among later generations.” He gave His servants glad tidings that they would have secure standing and a seat of honor with Him. Allah Most High said (10:2): “And give glad tidings to those who believe that they have secure standing with their Lord.” He also said (54:54, 55): “Indeed, the righteous will be amid gardens and rivers, in a seat of honor with a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.”
These are five things: a sound entrance, a sound departure, honorable mention, secure standing, and a seat of honor.
The reality of truth (sidq) in these things is that which is true and firmly established, connected to Allah and leading to Him. It encompasses words and deeds undertaken through His aid and for His sake, together with their reward in this world and the Hereafter.
A sound entrance and a sound departure mean that one’s entering and leaving should be true and firmly established
