Surah al-Hijr
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
[Surah al-Hijr (15): verse 21]
“There is nothing whose treasuries are not with Us, and We send it down only in a known measure.” (21)
This contains a treasure: everything should be sought only from the One who holds its treasuries and in whose hands are their keys. Seeking it from anyone else is seeking it from someone who neither possesses it nor has power over it.
His words, 53: 42, “And to your Lord is the final destination,” contain a great treasure.
Everything sought, unless it is sought for His sake and connected to Him, will fade away and come to an end, for it is not the final destination. The final destination is none other than the One to whom all things ultimately lead: to His creation, His will, His wisdom, and His knowledge. He is the ultimate aim of everything sought. Loving anything that is not loved for His sake brings toil and torment. Every deed not intended for His sake is wasted and futile.
Every heart that does not reach Him is wretched, barred from its happiness and success.
Thus, everything sought from Him is encompassed in His words, “There is nothing whose treasuries are not with Us,” while everything sought for His sake is encompassed in His words, “And to your Lord is the final destination.” There is no goal beyond Him, glorified is He, to be sought, nor any goal short of Him that is the final destination.
[Surah al-Hijr (15): verse 75]
“Indeed, in that are signs for those with discernment.” (75)
