to the best of the prophets as guidance for humanity and clear proofs of guidance and the criterion between right and wrong.
In pursuing these endeavors, hoping to attain the pleasure of the Almighty Creator, Lord of all worlds—none is worthy of worship but Him—we present to you today a valuable commentary on the meanings of Allah’s Book. Having previously presented the Tafsīr al-Qur’ān al-‘Azīm of Imam Ibn Kathīr, the great hadith scholar, we now present al-Tafsīr al-Qayyim by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim. We entrusted it to the Office of Arab and Islamic Studies and Research to oversee its critical editing, textual verification, and annotation, together with Shaykh Ibrāhīm Ramadān, one of the distinguished scholars serving at Dār al-Fatwā in the Lebanese Republic.
This work was undertaken to present the book in the clearest form, with the fullest expression and the soundest, most accessible explanations, for it requires considerable care and close attention before publication. Such is our customary practice: to give the books of our heritage every possible measure of attention and care.
Allah alone grants success.
