This is not the place to unfold these questions in detail. The aim, rather, is to draw attention to the fact that every person must know the religion of Islam with which Allah sent His Messenger, and what the Companions, their Followers, and the early generations of the ummah upheld; that sound reason can never contradict that way—indeed, whatever opposes it is false. The scholastic theologians who took the foundations of their discourse from the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah, and their likes have introduced into the religion of Islam a great deal of falsehood that is not part of it. None of them can be counted among those whose felicity in this world and the next is assured—save those who are believing Muslims—as the Qur’an affirms in more than one passage.
