Allah, Exalted is He, says:
“Those who believe in him, honor him, support him, and follow the light that was sent down with him—it is they who will prosper.”
He also says:
“A light and a clear Book have come to you from Allah. By it Allah guides those who seek His good pleasure to the paths of peace; He brings them out of darkness into light, by His permission, and directs them to a straight path.”
And He says:
“O you who believe, fear Allah and believe in His Messenger; He will grant you a double share of His mercy, will make for you a light by which you walk, and will forgive you. Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful—so that the People of the Book may know that they have no control over any of Allah’s bounty, and that bounty is in Allah’s hand; He bestows it upon whom He wills. Allah is the Possessor of immense bounty.”
Moreover, He has informed us that the revelation granted to Muhammad is the same type of revelation bestowed upon the earlier prophets, as He says:
“Indeed, We have revealed to you as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him: to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Tribes, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon; and We gave David the Psalms; and to messengers We have already related to you, and to messengers We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses directly.”
Another ruling specific to the prophets is that whoever reviles any prophet is, by unanimous agreement of the leading jurists, to be put to death and is deemed an apostate, just as one who disbelieves in the prophet or in what he brought is deemed an apostate.
