Further clarifying this matter is the fact that Allah has declared Himself far above having any partner or offspring in numerous passages. He, the Exalted, says:
“Yet they assign to Allah partners—the jinn—although He created them, and they falsely attribute to Him sons and daughters without any knowledge. Glorified and exalted is He above what they ascribe. He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth; how could He have a child when He has no consort? He created all things, and He is, of everything, All-Knowing.” (6:100–101)
He also says:
“Say, ‘Praise be to Allah, who has never taken a son, who has no partner in dominion, and who has no need of a protector out of weakness.’ Magnify Him with the greatest glorification.” (17:111)
And He says:
“Allah has never taken a son, nor is there with Him any deity. Had it been so, each deity would have taken away what it created.” (23:91)
He, Most Blessed, also says:
“Blessed is the One who sent down the Criterion to His servant so that he may be a warner to all peoples—the One to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, who has never taken a son and who has no partner in sovereignty.” (25:1–2)
And He says:
“Unquestionably, out of their fabrications they say, ‘Allah has begotten,’ and indeed they are liars.” (37:151–152)
And He says:
“Say: He is Allah—One; Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He does not beget, nor is He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him.” (112:1–4)
Thus Allah has declared Himself free of offspring and of any equal.
This claim—that He possesses a child or a peer—can be found among the Arab idolaters, the Christians, and others. Yet what is found among the group now under discussion is even worse. The pagan Arabs, the Christians, and the like acknowledge that Allah is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all things, but they nevertheless affirm a kind of generated offspring, a contingent generation, as the Christians assert concerning the Messiah and as the Arab idolaters once claimed concerning the angels and the like. These people, however, maintain that
