Likewise, the students of Abū al-Maʿālī—such as Abū al-Ḥasan al-Marghīnānī and others—voiced their disapproval of him, as did the family of al-Qushayrī and his followers, Shaykh Abū al-Bayān, Abū al-Ḥasan Ibn Shukr, Abū ʿAmr Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ, and Abū Zakariyyā; many others, too, spoke against him.
