and there you shall have whatever you ask for—a gracious hospitality from the All-Forgiving, the Merciful. (Q 41:32)
The Exalted also says, “Are they waiting for anything but that the angels should come to them, or that your Lord should come, or that some of the signs of your Lord should come?” (Q 6:158)
And He says, “Are they waiting for anything but that Allah should come to them in canopies of cloud, together with the angels, and then the matter will be settled?” (Q 2:210)
These and similar texts state explicitly that angels exist, that they act, speak, and exercise real influence in the creation by both word and deed. They therefore refute the claim that the forces that affect the world are only psychic powers or merely physical forces, for angels lie outside both categories. Hence the supernatural events produced by angelic action are far greater than those produced by psychic powers alone. Moreover, the prophets are the people most deserving of the angels’ assistance and of Allah’s support, as He Himself has informed us.
Allah, exalted be He, also says, “By those who stand in ranks, those who drive away with stern rebuke, and those who recite the Reminder.” (Q 37:1-3)
And toward the end of the same sūrah He says, “Ask them: ‘Are daughters to be ascribed to your Lord while sons are allotted to them? Or did We create the angels female while they were present as witnesses?’ No indeed! Out of their fabrication they say, ‘Allah has begotten,’ and they are truly liars. Has He chosen daughters over sons? What is wrong with you—how do you judge?” up to His words, “There is none among us but has a known station.” (Q 37:149-164)
