Among such works are the books of Tamtam the Indian, Tankalusha the Babylonian, and the writings of Thabit ibn Qurra and Abu Maʿshar al-Balkhi, along with many other authors who composed treatises on the subject. Abu ʿAbd Allah Muhammad ibn al-Khatib likewise records a great deal of this material in his own volume, which he entitled The Hidden Secret on Magic, Talismans, and Addressing the Stars.
