Some people attribute views of this sort to al-Hallāj. In reality, however, such talk is nothing but sheer ignorance and outright unbelief, whose essence is turning away from affirming God, knowing Him, loving Him, remembering Him, worshipping Him, and calling upon Him. These people are of the same ilk as the willfully ignorant, agnostic sophists.
