Ahadith al-QussasIbn Taimiya

Another is:
75- “Everything has its greeting, and the greeting of the mosque is two rakʿahs (units of prayer).”

It is authentically recorded in al-Sahīh* from Abū Qatādah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“When any of you enters the mosque, let him not sit down until he has prayed two rakʿahs.”

It is also authentically reported that he said:

“When any of you enters the mosque on Friday while the imam is delivering the sermon, let him not sit down until he has prayed two rakʿahs.”
