Ahadith al-QussasIbn Taimiya

Another is:
74- “Whoever lights a lamp in a mosque, the angels ⦗93⦘ and the bearers of the Throne will continue to seek forgiveness* for him as long as light from that lamp remains in that mosque.”

This report has no known chain of transmission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), nor has it become clear** to me that it is fabricated.

[Note by the preparer of the book for al-Shāmila] * In the Dār al-Āthār edition: tastaghfiru (seek forgiveness). ** This is the reading in both the al-Maktab al-Islāmī and Dār al-Āthār editions. The entire report is absent from the al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya edition. Perhaps the correct reading is wa-l-azhar (and it seems more likely). Allah knows best.
