Among them:
4- “I am from [Allah] *, and the believers are from me.”
This wording is not known to have been reported from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. What is established in the Book ⦗56⦘ and the Sunnah, however, is that the believers are of one another, as Allah Most High says:
“You are of one another.”
The Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said of the Ash'arī clan:
“They are of me, and I am of them.”
He said to Alī—may Allah be pleased with him:
“You are of me, and I am of you.”
He said of Julaybīb**:
“This man is of me, and I am of him.”
⦗57⦘ These hadiths are recorded in the authentic collections.
[Note by the preparer of the Shamela edition]
* The al-Maktab al-Islāmī edition reads: “I am of the believers.” The reading adopted here follows the editions of al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya and Dār al-Āthār.
** The al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya edition reads: “And he said to Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him.”
