42- “Friday is the Hajj of the poor.”
This saying has been transmitted*. It means that for someone unable to perform Hajj, going to the mosque on Friday is like performing Hajj. It does not mean begging people for it**.
[Note by the book’s preparer for al-Shāmila]
* The Dār al-Āthār edition reads: hādhā maʿnāhu maʾthūr (“The meaning of this has been transmitted”).
** The al-Dār al-Lubnāniyya al-Misriyya edition reads: lahum (“for them”) instead of lahu (“for him/it”).
