38- “Charity given in secret extinguishes the Lord’s wrath*.”
The well-known hadith is: “Charity extinguishes sin just as water extinguishes fire.” As for the wording quoted above, I believe it has been transmitted.

ومنها: ٣٨- «صَدَقَةُ السِّرِّ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ*» .
الحديث المعروف: «الصَّدَقَةُ تُطْفِئُ الْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا يُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ» واللفظ المذكور أَظنه مأثورًا.
