Among them:
1- “Neither My heaven* nor My earth contains Me; rather**, the heart of My believing servant contains Me.”
⦗54⦘ This is mentioned in the Israelite reports. It has no known chain of transmission from the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Its meaning is: his heart contains faith*** in Me, love for Me, and knowledge of Me. Otherwise, anyone who says that Allah’s essence dwells in people’s hearts is**** guilty of greater disbelief than the Christians who confined this to the Messiah alone.
[Comment by the preparer of the al-Shāmila edition]
* The Dār al-Āthār edition reads: lā samāʾī (“neither My heaven”).
** The al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya and Dār al-Āthār editions read: wa-lākin (“but”).
*** The al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya edition reads: wa-maʿnāhu wasiʿanī qalbuhu bi-l-īmān (“and its meaning is: his heart contains Me through faith”). The Dār al-Āthār edition reads: wa-maʿnā wasiʿanī qalbuhu li-l-īmān (“and the meaning of ‘his heart contains Me’: for faith”).
**** The al-Dār al-Misriyya al-Lubnāniyya and Dār al-Āthār editions read: fa-hādhā (“then this person”).
