Among them:
29- “I was a prophet while Adam was between water and clay, and I was a prophet when there was neither Adam nor water nor clay.”
This wording is a baseless fabrication.
However, the transmitted wording reported by al-Tirmidhī and others relates that he was asked:
“O Messenger of Allah! When were you a prophet?”
He replied: “While Adam was between spirit and body.”
The Sunan also contain the following report from al-‘Irbād ibn Sāriyah:
⦗70⦘ “Indeed, I was recorded with Allah as the Seal of the Prophets while Adam still lay in his clay*.”

* The al-Dār al-Misriyyah al-Lubnāniyyah and Dār al-Āthār editions read: tīnatihi (his clay).
