Among them:
17- “When he (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) arrived in Medina during the Hijrah, the girls of al-Najjār came out with frame drums, saying*:
‘The full moon has risen over us ...
from the Farewell Passes’
—and so on to the end of the poem.
⦗64⦘ Then [the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), addressing them,] ** said: ‘Shake your karābīl; may Allah bless you.’”
As for women beating frame drums on festive occasions, this was a known practice in the time of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).
As for the words, “Shake your karābīl; may Allah bless you,” these are not known to have been reported from him.

* The Dār al-Āthār edition reads: “and they say”. This agrees with the manuscripts on which the al-Maktab al-Islāmī and al-Dār al-Misriyyah al-Lubnāniyyah editions were based.
** An addition from the al-Dār al-Misriyyah al-Lubnāniyyah and Dār al-Āthār editions.
