Among them:
13- “Abū Mahdhūrah recited in the presence of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:
‘[Indeed] (3) the serpent of passion has stung my heart …
[so] (3) neither physician nor reciter of healing charms can cure it.’
To the end of the poem.
⦗61⦘ The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, displayed ecstasy*, and his mantle fell from his shoulders**. The poor people of the Suffah divided it among themselves and used it as patches for their clothes.”
This is a fabrication, as hadith scholars unanimously agree. Some of them have nevertheless transmitted it, but it is one of the fabricated lies***.
(3) An addition absent from the original but required by the meter; it appears in the works that recount this fabricated story.

* The editions published by al-Dār al-Misriyyah al-Lubnāniyyah and Dār al-Āthār read: fa-tawājada (then he displayed ecstasy).
** The editions published by al-Dār al-Misriyyah al-Lubnāniyyah and Dār al-Āthār read: katifihi (his shoulder).
