Al-TadmuriyyaIbn Taimiya

If, nevertheless, one were to grant this identification, the Necessary Existent would end up being described by every form of anthropomorphic resemblance and corporeality, indeed by every imperfection and defect—exactly as the advocates of wahdat al-wujūd (the unity-of-existence) plainly state when they pursue that corrupt principle to its limits. In that case, the statements of those who deny the attributes would prove invalid under every possible consideration.
[Outcome of this principle]
This point is consistent and far-reaching: every person who rejects any of the attributes reported by the Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace) does so only to avoid what he deems objectionable, yet he inevitably affirms in its place something that obliges him to accept an analogue of what he sought to escape. In the end he is compelled to acknowledge a necessary, eternal being distinguished from everything else by attributes that do not resemble the attributes of His creation. It is then said to him: the same reasoning applies when all the attributes are taken together. Every name and attribute we affirm must of necessity indicate a common meaning shared by the things denoted; were that not the case
