Al-TadmuriyyaIbn Taimiya

In the same vein comes the debate between Adam and Moses. Moses said, “O Adam, you are the father of humankind. Allah created you with His own Hand, breathed into you of His spirit, and caused His angels to prostrate to you. Why, then, did you—and consequently all of us—have to leave Paradise?” Adam replied, “And you are Moses, the one whom Allah chose for His speech. How many years before I was created did you find it written against me, ‘And Adam disobeyed his Lord and thus went astray’ (Q 20:121)?” Moses answered, “Such-and-such number of years.” Adam said, “Then Adam has out-argued Moses.” The point is that Moses’ reproach of Adam was not on account of the sin itself
