The Ahl al-Sunnah stance on divine decree
In short, such claims come from the people of misguidance. As for those blessed with guidance and success, they affirm both aspects: they believe that Allah is the Creator of everything, its Lord and Sovereign; that whatever He wills comes to pass and whatever He does not will never occurs; that He is powerful over all things; that His knowledge encompasses all things; and that He has enumerated everything in a clear register.
This foundational principle therefore entails affirming Allah’s knowledge, power, will, oneness, and lordship, and that He alone is the Creator, Lord, and Master of all things—truths that lie at the very heart of faith.
