—We created you the first time, and you have left behind everything We entrusted to you. Nor do We see with you your intercessors whom you claimed were partners with Us. The ties between you have been cut, and all that you used to assert has deserted you (6:94).

Thus the Almighty declares that their supposed intercessors were those whom they alleged to be partners. He, exalted be He, also says: “Have they taken, besides Allah, intercessors? Say, ‘Even if they possess no power at all and have no understanding?’ Say, ‘To Allah belongs all intercession. His is the dominion of the heavens and the earth; then to Him you will be returned’” (39:43–44).

And He says: “You have no protector and no intercessor besides Him” (32:4).

And He says: “Warn with it those who fear being gathered to their Lord: for them there is, apart from Him, no protector and no intercessor” (6:51).

He, Most High, has also said: “Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?” (2:255).

And He says: “They say, ‘The Most Merciful has taken a son.’ Glory be to Him! Rather, they are honored servants; they do not precede Him in speech, and they act only on His command. He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not intercede except for those whom He approves, and they are—”
