and praised Himself, for He is—glorified be He—the One truly worthy of praise by reason of His majestic names and attributes and the wonders He has brought into being.

As for the detailed affirmation, He has enumerated some of His names and attributes in the decisive verses He revealed, such as His saying: “Allah—there is no deity but Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer…”—the verse in its entirety; and His saying: “Say: He is Allah, One; Allah, the Self-Sufficient; He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him”; and His words: “and He is the All-Knowing, the Wise,” “and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful,” “and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing,” “and He is the Almighty, the Wise,” “and He is the All-Forgiving, the Merciful,” “and He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Loving, Lord of the Glorious Throne, Doer of whatever He wills”; and His statement: “He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, Knowing. It is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself above the Throne; He knows what penetrates the earth and what emerges from it, what descends from heaven and what ascends therein, and He is with you wherever you are. Allah is Seeing of whatever you do.”
