[Some of the distinguishing qualities of Ahl al-Sunnah]:
315- However, when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, foretold: “My community will split into seventy-three sects; all of them will be in the Fire except one, and that is the Jamaʿah,”
316- and in another report he said: “They are those who are upon what I and my Companions are upon,” those who adhere to unadulterated, pristine Islam came to be called “Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaʿah.”
317- Among them are the ṣiddīqūn (the ever-truthful), the martyrs, and the righteous.
318- From their ranks also emerge the luminaries of guidance and the lamps that shine in the darkness—people of recorded merits and recognized virtues.
319- In their midst are the Abdāl.
320- And among them are the Imams upon whose authority the Muslims have unanimously
