3 – Rather, they believe, as Allah the Exalted has declared: “There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing” (ash-Shura 42:11).
4 – Hence they do not deny of Him anything with which He has described Himself;
5 – nor do they distort the words from their proper contexts;
[Ilḥād (deviation) with respect to Allah’s Names and His verses]
6 – nor do they commit ilḥād concerning Allah’s Names or His signs;
7 – nor do they liken His attributes to the attributes of His creation.
[Allah is not to be compared with His creation]
8 – For He—glorified be He—has no namesake, no equal, no rival, and He is in no way to be measured against His creation.
9 – Indeed, He—glorified be He—knows Himself and all else best, His word is the truest, and His speech is more perfect than that of His creatures.
