Section One: Belief in everything the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has informed us of concerning what will take place after death.

Among the components of faith in the Last Day are the following:

177 – Belief in everything the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has related about what will occur after death;

178 – Therefore they believe:

1. in the trial of the grave – “in the trial of the grave”;
2. and in the punishment and the bliss of the grave – “and in the punishment of the grave and its bliss.”

179 – As for the “trial,” people will indeed be tested in their graves. It will be said to a person, “Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your prophet?” Then, “Allah makes firm those who believe with the steadfast word” (Qur’an 14:27). The believer will reply, “Allah is my Lord, Islam is my religion, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is my prophet.”
