— the very qualities that set Him apart from all others; for if praise were predicated only of the genus, this would entail that others share some individuals of that genus—exactly as the Qadariyyah assert.
— The people of the Sunnah, however, say: All praise belongs entirely to Allah… (A) As for the servant, any praise he receives is restricted, because Allah Most High is the One who granted it to him, just as the servant’s ownership is restricted. Independent dominion and independent praise, universal dominion and universal praise, belong solely to Allah, Lord of the worlds. There is no god but Him; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Powerful over all things.
— In the Sunan (1) it is related from the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever, upon entering the morning, says, ‘O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me this morning is from You alone; You have no partner. To You belongs the praise,’ has rendered the thanks due for that day. And whoever says it upon entering the night has rendered the thanks due for that night.”
— The Exalted says: “Whatever blessing you have is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you, to Him you cry out; yet when He removes the harm from you, behold, a group of you associates partners with their Lord” (Q 16:53–54).
— And He says: “And you make your share of provision that you deny” (Q 56:82).
