— In the Ṣaḥīḥ (1) as well: “Prompt your dying ones with la ilaha illa Allah.”
la ilaha illa Allah is the goodly word with which the messengers were sent
— It is the goodly word that Allah set forth as a parable, like a goodly tree.
— It is the very message with which all the messengers were sent: “We sent no messenger before you without revealing to him, ‘There is no deity but Me, so worship Me’” (al-Anbiyāʾ 21:25).
— And: “Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint, apart from the Most Merciful, gods to be worshipped?” (al-Zukhruf 43:45).
la ilaha illa Allah is the word Abraham bequeathed to his descendants and it is the religion of Islam
— It is the word Abraham left among his progeny: “He made it a lasting word among his descendants so that they might return” (al-Zukhruf 43:28).
— It is the religion of Islam, which Allah accepts from no one—whether of the first generations or the last—except through it.
— “Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam” (Āl ʿImrān 3:19).
— “Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers” (Āl ʿImrān 3:85).
— Every sermon that lacks the Testimony is mutilated.
