Praise belongs to Allah alone.

What the Prophet ﷺ used to take as weapons for war
1- The Prophet ﷺ would arm himself with:
(1) the sword;
(2) the spear;
(3) the bow;
(4) the kanana—that is, a leather quiver for arrows.
What the Prophet ﷺ used to wear in war
2- He would place upon his head:
– the baydaʾ (1), meaning the helmet;
– and the maghfar (2), a mail coif.
(1) al-bayda (iron helmet): An iron head-piece worn to shield the head from blows; it does not normally extend to cover the nape or ears, although it is sometimes fashioned from mail. Source: al-Qalqashandi, Subh al-Asha, vol. 2, p. 150.
(2) al-mighfar (mail coif): Pronounced with a kasra on the initial m. It resembles the bayda but has pendent sections that protect the wearer’s nape and ears, and may also include a nasal guard; it too can be made of mail. Source: Subh al-Asha, vol. 2, p. 150.

الحمد لله رب العالمين
ما كان يتخذه النبي ﷺ من أسلحة للحرب
١- كان النبي ﷺ يَتَّخِذ:
(١) "السَّيف".
(٢) و"الرُّمح".
(٣) و"القَوس".
(٤) و"الكنانة"؛ التي هي الجُعْبَة للنّشاب وهي من جُلُود.
ما كان يلبسه النبي ﷺ في الحرب
٢- وكان يَلْبس على رَأْسِهِ:
- "البيضة" (١) ؛ التي هي الخوذة.
- و"المغْفَر" (٢) .
(١) (البيضة) : البيضة وهي آلة من حديد توضع على الرأس لوقاية الضرب ونحوه وليس فيه ما يرسل على القفا والآذان وربما كان ذلك من زرد. (صبح الأعشى) (٢/١٥٠) .
(٢) (المغفر) : بكسر الميم وهو كالبيضة إلا أن فيه أطرافا مسدوله على قفا الابس وأذنيه وربما جعل منها وقاية لأنفه أيضا، وقد تكون من زرد أيضا.
