146 – In the two Ṣaḥīḥs (1) it is narrated from Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Do not drink from vessels of gold or silver, nor eat from dishes made of them; for they belong to them in this world, whereas they will be yours in the Hereafter.”

147 – Likewise, in the two Ṣaḥīḥs (2) Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, reports that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever drinks from a silver vessel is only gulping down in his belly the fire of Hell.”

He commanded us regarding seven matters and forbade us from seven

148 – In the two Ṣaḥīḥs (3) al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us to observe seven things and prohibited us from seven. He enjoined:
– visiting the sick;
– following the funeral procession.”

"yujarjir": pronounced with a damma on the initial ya, a fatha on the first jim, a sukun on the ra, then a jim with kasra followed by a ra. The verb derives from jarjara and describes the throaty rumble a camel produces when agitated, comparable to the clinking of a horse’s bit. See Fath al-Bari, 10/97. فصل وأما الحلية بالذهب والفضة ولبس الحرير الحلية بالذهب والفضة ولبس الحرير ١٤٦- ففي "الصحيحين" (١) عن حذيفة بن اليمان أن النبي ﷺ قال: "لا تشربوا في آنية الذهب والفضة، ولا تأكلوا في صِحافِها؛ فإنها لهم في الدنيا، ولكم في الآخرة". ١٤٧- وفي "الصحيحين" (٢) عن أم سلمة زوج النبي ﷺ قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "الذي يشرب في إناء الفضة إنما يُجَرْجِرُ في بطنه نار جهنم". أمرنا بسبع ونهينا عن سبع ١٤٨- وفي "الصحيحين" (٣) عن البراء بن عازب قال: "أمرنا رسول الله ﷺ بِسَبْعٍ، ونهانا عن سبع: أمرنا بـ: - بعيادة المريض. - وإتباع الجنازة.
