So Fāṭimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, kept washing away the blood, while ʿAlī poured water over him with a shield. When Fāṭimah realized that water only made the bleeding worse, she took a piece of matting, burned it until it turned to ash, pressed the ash onto the wound, and the blood stopped. Both Ṣaḥīḥs record this report.
The Mail-Coif
56 – Anas ibn Mālik narrates that, during the Year of the Conquest, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca with a mail-coif (migfar) on his head. After he removed it, a man came and said, “Ibn Khaṭal is clinging to the curtains of the Kaʿbah!” The Prophet replied, “Kill him.” This is related by both al-Bukhārī and Muslim (1).
The Tunic
57 – Umm Salamah (A) said: “The garment dearest to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the tunic (qamīṣ).” The compilers of the Sunan have transmitted it, and al-Tirmidhī declared it “a ḥasan hadith.” (2)
