49 – Al-Bukhari says in his Ṣaḥīḥ (2), reporting from Ibn ʿUmar, that the Prophet ﷺ declared: “My provision has been placed beneath the shade of my spear, and humiliation and degradation have been decreed for those who oppose my command.”
50 – Imam Aḥmad likewise transmitted it (3) from Ibn ʿUmar, who related that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I have been sent, just before the Hour, with the sword so that Allah alone is worshipped with no partner beside Him. My sustenance has been set beneath the shade of my spear, and disgrace and abasement have been placed upon whoever contradicts my command. Whoever imitates a people is counted among them.”

(1) The hadith scholar Ibn al-Qayyim notes that the Prophet possessed five spears; see Zad al-Maad, 1/131. The same number is given by Ibn Jamaʿah in Mukhtasar al-Sirah, a statement quoted by al-Tilmisani in Takhrij al-Dalalat al-Samʿiyyah, p. 415. Al-Hafiz al-ʿIraqi likewise lists them in his Alfiyyah on the Prophet’s life (line 267, with al-Manawi’s commentary), and al-Salihi records them in Subul al-Huda wa-l-Rashad, 7/585.

Ibn Rajab devoted a separate treatise to this hadith entitled Al-Hukm al-Jadira bi-l-Idhaʿa min Qawl al-Nabi: “I have been sent with the sword before the Hour.” The words placed in brackets are added to make the wording flow.

الرمح
٤٨- وأما "الرمح" (١) :
٤٩- فقال البخاري في "صحيحه" (٢) : ويذكر عن ابن عمر عن النبي ﷺ: "جعل رزقي تحت ظل رمحي، وجعل الذلة والصغار على من خالف أمري".
٥٠-[و] رواه الإمام أحمد (٣) ، عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "بعثت بين يدي الساعة بالسيف حتى يعبد الله ﵎ وحده لا شريك له، وجعل رزقي تحت ظل "رمحي"، وجعل الذلة والصغار على من خالف أمري، ومن تشبه بقوم فهو منهم".
٥١- وروى أبو داود بعضه (٤) .
(١) ذكر الحافظ ابن القيم ﵀ أن النبي ﷺ كان له خمسة أرماح "زاد المعاد" (١/١٣١) وكذا عدها خمسا: ابن جماعة في "مختصر السيرة". ونقلها عنه التلمساني في "تخريج الدلالات السمعية" (٤١٥) . وأيضا: الحافظ العراقي ﵀ في ألفيته للسيرة (٢٦٧ - بشرح المناوي) . والصالحي في "سبل الهدى والرشاد" (٧/٥٨٥) .
