He answered, “Only those who lack knowledge do that.” (1)
29 – Likewise, with respect to weapons—the sword, the spear, and the bow—it is not reported that he ever kept more than one of each for himself.
30 – As for sheep, it is narrated (2) that he maintained one hundred head, saying, “We have one hundred sheep and do not wish them to exceed that number; whenever the shepherd’s flock produces a new lamb, we slaughter another in its place.”

“bahma”: al-Khattabi states, “The bahma is a newborn lamb, whether male or female.” Maʿalim al-Sunan, 1/105.
فقال: "إنما يفعل ذلك الذين لا يعلمون" (١) .
٢٩- وكذلك: آلات السلاح كـ:
"السيف" و"الرمح" و"القوس".
لم يذكر عنه أنه كان يقتني لنفسه أكثر من واحد.
٣٠- وأما "الغنم":
فقد روي (٢) : أنه اقتنى مائة شاة؛ وقال: "إن لنا مائة شاة، لا نريد أن تزيد، فكلما ولّد الراعي بهمة ذبحنا مكانها أخرى".

"الذين لا يعلمون": قال الطحاوي ﵀: "أي أنهم يتركون بذلك لإنتاج ما في ارتباطه الأجر، وينتجون ما لا أجر في ارتباطه".
