(23) Introducing the Errors of the One Who Divided the Sunan into “Sound” and “Weak,” by Maḥmūd Saʿīd Mamdūḥ.
This is a sizeable work; the section on acts of worship alone runs to six large volumes. I saw it with one of the respected scholars in Jeddah.
I do not understand why some people fault Shaykh al-Albani—may Allah have mercy on him—for classifying certain books into “sound” and “weak.” It is a well-trodden path, familiar to anyone with even a minimal knowledge of hadith compilation.
(24) The Diligent Rejoinder to Those Who Impugned Authentic Hadiths, by ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥabashī al-Hararī.
Al-Albani answered it with: “A Rebuttal of the Epistle ‘al-Taʿqīb al-Ḥathīth.’”
(25) Remarks on al-Albani’s Series “Weak and Fabricated Hadiths,” by the esteemed Shaykh Ismāʿīl ibn Muḥammad al-Anṣārī—may Allah have mercy on him.
(26) Elegant Notes on the “Ṣaḥīḥ Series,” by Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUbaylān.
In this book he traces the hadiths that al-Albani, in Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ṣaḥīḥah, attributed to sources other than the two Ṣaḥīḥs, even though they are actually found in both—or at least in one—of them.
(27) Supplement to What Was Omitted in the Documentation of Irwāʾ al-Ghalīl, by His Excellency Shaykh Dr. Ṣāliḥ ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Āl al-Shaykh—may Allah preserve him.
Though small in size, it is invaluable; with it the benefit of Irwāʾ is brought to completion.
(28) Al-Albani’s Evident Contradictions in Grading Ḥadiths as Sound or Weak: Errors and Blunders, by al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Saqqāf.
The book of this man—indeed, all of his books—is not dependable, being rife with lies, deception, distortion, and fraud against the Muslim community.
A number of scholars have refuted him, among them:
• Shaykh al-Albani himself in the introduction to volume 1 of Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ṣaḥīḥah (pp. 4–17), the introduction to volume 6 (pp. 4–6), and at various other points within the Ṣaḥīḥah.
• I have read a rebuttal by ʿAmr ibn ʿAbd al-Munʿim Salīm entitled “Not Merely a Defense of al-Albani… but a Defense of Salafism.”
• There is also a reply entitled “The Wicked Saqqāf’s Slanders against al-Albani, the Shaykh of the Hadith Scholars,” by Khālid al-ʿAnbarī.
