There are also several works from which one may profit in this regard; they will be listed in Chapter Five. That chapter gathers the books written in refutation of the Shaykh, and I have added, whenever available, the rejoinders to those refutations, along with a number of titles that explain the Shaykh’s approach and transmit a portion of his learning. This should be read together with what I mentioned on p. 23 about the primary sources that are useful for this subject.
Among the topics that could be treated as independent studies concerning the Shaykh—may Allah have mercy on him—are:
- “Al-Albani and His Method of Authorship.”
- “Al-Albani and His Impact on Hadith Studies.”
- “Al-Albani and His Criteria for Authentication and Weakening.”
- “Al-Albani’s Juristic Selections.”
- “Al-Albani’s Scholarly and Daʿwah Efforts over Half a Century.”
- “Al-Albani and His Position toward the People of Innovation.”
- “The Life of Al-Albani: Lessons and Insights.”
Whatever angle the researcher chooses, he will find ample material in the many volumes the Shaykh left behind. In fact, a simple survey of the Series of Authentic Hadiths—and its sister series—would be sufficient.
And Allah is the source of success.
