and to include it in the “inventory,” giving it its own number, runs counter to what I intended. Allah alone grants success. (1)
(4) “Refutation of the Jahmiyyah,” by al-Dārimī, [verification] — (printed).
I have already discussed it in its proper place in this inventory; refer back to that entry.
(5) “The Emirati Fatwas,” [audio cassettes] (circulated in handwritten form).
This item and the one that follows under no. 7 both originate from the Shaykh’s answers that were recorded on cassette—one set in the United Arab Emirates (130 questions) and another in al-Madīnah al-Nabawiyyah (130 questions).
One of the brothers transcribed them, preserving the order found on the tapes, and prefaced the material with subject-based indices.
This was a commendable effort—may Allah reward the one who undertook it.
The pages then spread among the students of knowledge, but I do not know whether they ever reached the Shaykh for him to read, approve, or annotate, thereby making them part of his writings, or not. Allah knows best.
Under the same heading fall the following booklets:
“Introducing Innovation into the Religion,”
“Innovation and Related Questions,”
“The Birthday Innovation,”
“Every Innovation Is Misguidance.”
All of them were originally lectures of the Shaykh that were recorded, transcribed, then word-processed and circulated in photocopied form among students of knowledge.
(6) “Shaykh al-Albānī’s Fatwas in Comparison with the Fatwas of Other Scholars,” by ʿUkkāshah ʿAbd al-Manʿān — (printed).
I mentioned it in Chapter Four, p. 152; see it there along with my comments.
(7) “The Madinan Fatwas,” [audio cassettes] (circulated in handwritten form).
See the remark made on “The Emirati Fatwas” above under no. 5.
(8) “Collected Fatwas.”
I have been informed that a certain publishing house is transcribing the Shaykh’s tapes and gathering his fatwas in preparation for releasing them in volumes. I have not listed it because it does not meet my criteria for numbering.
(9–12) “Introducing Innovation into the Religion,” “Innovation and Related Questions,” “The Birthday Innovation,” and “Every Innovation Is Misguidance.”
These are not among the Shaykh’s books. See the note I appended at the end of “The Emirati Fatwas.”
[Finally]:
Whatever I have listed under this “Supplement” but have not entered in the previous inventory is a matter of terminology and personal judgment, over which there is no cause for dispute. Allah is the One who grants success.
