in the form of praise.” As for this testimony taking place on the Day of Resurrection, this is explained by the report in which the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “Noah will be summoned on the Day of Resurrection and asked, ‘Did you convey what you were sent with?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ His people will then be asked, ‘Did he convey it to you?’ They will say, ‘No bearer of good tidings or warner came to us.’ He will be asked, ‘Who knows that you did?’ He will say, ‘Muhammad and his community.’ They will then come and testify that he conveyed the message.”
It is also related that when Allah Most High gathers His servants on the Day of Resurrection, the first to be summoned will be Isrāfīl. His Lord will say to him, “What did you do with My covenant? Did you convey My covenant?” He will say, “Yes, my Lord, I conveyed it to Gabriel.” Gabriel will then be summoned and asked, “Did Isrāfīl convey My covenant to you?” He will say, “Yes, he conveyed it to me.” Isrāfīl will then be released, and Gabriel will be asked, “Did you convey My covenant?” He will say, “Yes, I conveyed it to the messengers.”
The messengers will then be summoned and asked, “Did Gabriel convey My covenant to you?” They will say, “Yes, our Lord.” Gabriel will then be released, and the messengers will be asked, “What did you do with My covenant?” They will say, “We conveyed it to our peoples.” Their peoples will then be summoned and asked, “Did the messengers convey My covenant to you?” Some will deny it, while others will affirm it. The messengers will say, “Besides Your own testimony, we have witnesses against them who will testify that we conveyed it.” He will say, “Who will testify for you?” They will say, “The community of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.”
The community of Muhammad will then be summoned and asked, “Do you testify that these messengers of Mine conveyed My covenant to those to whom they were sent?” They will say, “Yes, our Lord, we testify that they conveyed it.” Those peoples will say, “Our Lord, how can those who did not live in our time testify against us?” The Lord will then say to them, “How can you testify concerning those whose time you did not live in?” They will say, “Our Lord, You sent us a messenger and sent down to us Your covenant and Your Book. You told us that they had conveyed the message, so we have testified according to what You entrusted to us.”
