Section

A fasting person should keep his fast free of obscene speech, vulgarity, backbiting, and falsehood. It is narrated that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

“Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting, he should neither use obscene language nor behave foolishly. If anyone fights him or insults him, let him say, ‘I am fasting, I am fasting.’”
