Book of Accusations of Unlawful Intercourse

Section: The Prohibition of Such Accusations

Allah, Exalted is He, has made the honor of Muslims inviolable, just as He has made their blood and wealth inviolable, in His Book and through His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah Most High says:

“Those who harm believing men and women undeservedly bear the guilt of slander and manifest sin.” [Al-Ahzāb: 58]

He, Exalted is He, also says:

“O you who believe, do not be like those who offended Moses; Allah cleared him of what they said, and he was held in honor with Allah.” [Al-Ahzāb: 69]

On the Day of Sacrifice during the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“Indeed, your blood, your wealth, and your honor are inviolable among you, as sacred as this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours. Have I conveyed the message? Have I conveyed the message? Have I conveyed the message?”
