As for ṭiyarah (pessimistic omens), Muʿāwiyah ibn al-Ḥakam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I asked, ‘Messenger of Allah, among us are men who take ill-omens.’ He replied, ‘That is only something that passes through your hearts; let it not hold you back.’ ” These reports are recorded in the two Ṣaḥīḥ collections.
ʿUrwah ibn ʿĀmir related: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about ṭiyarah and said, ‘The soundest of it is faʾl (optimistic speech). Do not turn a Muslim away because of it. If you encounter something you dislike, then say: O Allah, none brings blessings but You, and none removes evils but You; there is no power and no might except by Allah.’ ”
On Bathhouses
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) transmitted—both as a statement traced back to the Prophet and as his own words, and it is almost marfūʿ— that he said: “How excellent a house is the bathhouse for a Muslim! When he enters it, let him ask Allah for Paradise and seek His protection from the Fire.”
