Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the marketplace he would say, ‘In the name of Allah. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this market and the good that is in it, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil that is in it. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from taking a false oath in it or from a losing transaction.’” The chain of transmission for this report is sounder than the preceding one.
On Looking in the Mirror
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) related: “Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at his face in the mirror he would say, ‘Praise be to Allah who fashioned my creation and proportioned it, who honored the form of my face and perfected it, and who made me among the Muslims.’”
ʿAli (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that whenever the Prophet ﷺ looked at his face in the mirror he would say, “Praise be to Allah. O Allah, just as You have made my outward form beautiful, so beautify my character.”
