Concerning an Unruly Mount
Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd said, “There is no man who finds himself on a stubborn mount, then recites into its ear, ‘So do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, while to Him submits all that is in the heavens and on the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned’ (Āl ʿImrān 3:83), without the animal coming to a halt by Allah’s permission.” We have done this ourselves, and—by Allah’s leave—it happened exactly as described.
