by Your mercy, which encompasses all things, forgive me.” Reported by Ibn Mājah.
It is also related that when the Prophet ﷺ broke his fast he would say, “Allahumma laka sumtu, wa ʿalā rizqika aftartu (O Allah, for You I have fasted, and with Your provision I break my fast).”
Another chain transmits it as: “Allahumma laka ṣumnā, wa ʿalā rizqika afṭarnā, fataqabbal minnā innaka anta al-Samīʿ al-ʿAlīm (O Allah, for You we have fasted, and with Your provision we break our fast. So accept it from us; indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing).”
Concerning travel
It is narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “No man leaves behind for his family anything better than two units of prayer that he performs with them when he is about to travel.” Reported by al-Ṭabarānī.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever intends to travel should say to those he leaves behind: Astawdiʿukum Allāha alladhī lā taḍīʿu wadāʾiʿuhu (I entrust you to Allah, in whose care nothing is ever lost).”
Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When Allah is entrusted with something, He safeguards it.” Recorded by Aḥmad and others.
