Al-Bukhārī also transmits from Jābir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Whoever, upon hearing the call to prayer, says, ‘O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and of the prayer that is about to commence, grant Muhammad al-wasīlah and al-faḍīlah, and raise him to the praiseworthy station You have promised him,’ my intercession will be permitted for him on the Day of Resurrection.”
ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar, may Allah be pleased with them both, reported that a man once said, “O Messenger of Allah, the muezzins have surpassed us.” He replied, “Say what they say, and when you finish, ask and you will be given.” Recorded by Abū Dāwūd.
Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah said, “A supplication made between the call to prayer and the iqāmah is not rejected.” They asked, “What should we ask for, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Ask Allah for well-being in this world and the Hereafter.” Al-Tirmidhī declared this hadith sound and authentic.
Sahl ibn Saʿd, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah said, “Two prayers for relief are never—or are rarely—turned away: the supplication made at the time of the call to prayer, and during battle when the combatants close in upon one another.” Recorded by Abū Dāwūd.
Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “The Messenger of Allah taught me to say at the Maghrib call to prayer: ‘O Allah, this is the arrival of Your night, the departure of Your day, the voices of Your callers, and the presence…’”
