and his two witnesses, and he said, "They are all equal." A curse is expulsion and banishment from the mercy of Allah. Allah the Exalted created the jinn and humankind, endowed them with reason and perception, and sent among them messengers and warners so that they might worship Him and humble themselves before Him through obedience, giving precedence to His command and the command of His Messenger over the desires of their own souls. That, indeed, is the essence of worship and the very requirement of faith in Allah, as He the Exalted says: "It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, to have any choice in their affair. Whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone astray." (33:36)
Therefore, a believer—if he is truly a believer—has no choice regarding any matter that Allah and His Messenger have decreed. He must respond with complete acceptance and submission, whether the ruling aligns with his inclinations or conflicts with them; otherwise, he is not a believer, as Allah says: "But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge concerning whatever disputes arise between them, then find within themselves no discomfort regarding what you have decided, and submit in full submission."
